Organizing Email
This year I want to try and simplify organizing my email. Instead of creating folders by subject (and keeping track of those), I will register a different Lumens email address per child, and will update the account settings for each kid to send notifications to that Lumens email address.
Email addresses are:
- hcpss-jeferson@grivel.net
- hcpss-anderson@grivel.net
- hcpss-melani@grivel.net
- hcpss-dayana@grivel.net
Folders
- Top level: 2025-26 School. This folder name starts with the year, to have it show up at the top, for easy reference. Older years can be moved elsewhere in the folder tree.
- Second level: one folder per kid: Anderson, Jeferson, Mélani, and Dayana.
- Also second level: school names: EMMS, CHS
- Also second level: General for the emails that aren’t school specific.
Create one filter per kid, based on the email, to move the “read” emails to the correct folder. This cleans up the inbox. If ever having to go back to a specific email, they can be found in the folder for that child.
Have one “tag” in Thunderbird for HCPSS and automatically tag all incoming emails to the four email addresses with that tag.
